HSSR #265: The Day the Eddie Didn't Go

Following was shot on December 7th 2009 at Waimea Bay. Conditions were
raw to say the least. The waves were 20ft+, and the winds were howling
like your mother-in-law, cold, non-stop and plenty of spray. THIS WAS THE DAY before the 2009-2010 "Quicksilver in memory of Eddie Aikau" big wave surf contest,
But this day was too sloppy & hairy for a televised surf contest.
Besides the next day would bring better weather & cleaner
conditions. So this is the day Eddie didn't go. Music by: Mezz Experimental Song: Brisas

Lets
go on a field trip to Sea Life Park just outside of Honolulu in good
old Waimanalo. Today we are going to see fish swimming, and fish being
fed to dolphins, whalphin, sea lions and penguins. We'll see parts of
the Sea Lion show w/ Miss California (sea lion #1) and Miss Tahiti (sea
lion #2) perform on stage and in the pool too. Then we'll stop by the
turtle feeding, then visit the gift shop and watch the sea lions lounge
and then watch the dolphin show and top it off with a grand encore
performance.
Two Huge Swells are in the neighborhood and this is just one shot
of a closed out beach near log cabins, I went up to shoot the surf at
waimea but the traffic was insane, after a late start it seemed that
sitting in traffic would be worse than shooting empty waves. So i
pulled over at Log Cabins and shark cove and believe it or not i turned
around and went back home the Kahuku way.
HOWEVER there will be a
50 year swell that will hit the north shore on monday December 7th and
i will try to get up there early enough to catch the peak of the
upcoming mega swell. SO STAY TUNED AND STAY STOKED!!!
